The propritary cards can't be used in any newer machines. The software (AIX1.3 and Scitex stuff)  is made to recognize and use specific ethernet, LanC, Scitex Fiber Link (SFL) and Video Boards.

Greg Chabala rains on my AIX documentation hopes:
Word is that there arn't any manuals, and never were. The ps2 turned into a turnkey system once the Scitex distribution was installed, and even the install was graphical. So no manual talks about the workings of AIX, just how to install and use the Scitex system.

There doesn't seem to be much on this card. It is possibly part of the "Star" or "Star Lite" publishing system by Scitex. The Scitex site has four text notes on microchannel adapters, all Y2K related. That's it...

Greg Chabala sez:
I think what you have gotten ahold of is the Scitex FiberChannel card. Scitex used PS/2 model 80s and still uses 95s as workstations for running their "Dolev" line of film plotters. Star is one of the software versions. This card would talk with the Dolev through the fiber optics, while the PS/2 would have files passed to it for plotting over a network. The card should only operate when running the Scitex software, which is a custom GUI running over an old version of AIX. (Ed. AIX for PS/2? ver 1.1 to 1.3?)
